A Dell rep has been caught on a YouTube video admitting that the pint-sized Alienware M11x will be getting a processor upgrade next month, to a selection between the Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processors.
Mr. Clune was giving a demo of the Alienware M11x on a YouTube video, he let slip that the small notebooks will start coming with Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 processors next month. Even before this announcement, with the lowly Core 2 Duo processor, the M11x was already the fastest 11-inch notebook in the world, according to Dell.
Obviously, in a screen of this size, power consumption is a big issue. The M11x currently uses ULV processors, so expect ULV Core i3, i5 and i7s to be put into the new models next month.
The graphics are still a bit of an issue on the M11x. As far as we know, it’ll still be coming with NVIDIA GeForce GT 335M graphics. Better than integrated graphics, but not killer by any stretch of the imagination. Hopefully that’ll be the next thing that Alienware improves on these mini-gamers.
