HP has introduced a new thin and light laptop with an 11.6 inch display and a low power AMD Neo processor. The HP Pavilion DM1a launches in Japan today, although the laptop is likely to carry a different name if and when it’s released in other countries.

The notebook comes with a 1.7GHz AMD Athlon II Neo K125 single core processor and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics. It has an 11.6 inch, 1366×768 pixel display, 2GB of RAM, and either a 250GB, 7200RPM hard drive or a 128GB solid state disk.

You also get 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, VGA and HDMI output, 3 USB 2.0 ports, and a flash card reader. The laptop has a 6 cell battery and weighs about 3.4 pounds.

The laptop looks an awful lot like the HP Pavilion DM1 that nDevil checked out in May. You can check out a hands-on video with that model after the break. No words about price and world wide release.
