Intel Dual Core Atom Netbooks May Be Working On
From day one, Atom chips, Intel has come in two editions: Desktop and Mobile. While the chip out of office and single dual-core Atom chips for laptops and other portable devices developed and published, have always come single-core. But it seems it could soon change.
Reports Inpact PC Intel is working on a chip doubles heart Atom for netbooks. It would be a nuclear N500, which makes sense, as the name of the new dual-chip called Atom Heart Desktop D510 and the majority of netbooks company-specific chips starts with the letter N, for example, Atom N270, N280, N450 and N470.
Until now, all PC makers who wanted to build a laptop with an Atom chip to have a double heart had to use a computer like the 330 dual-core Atom CPU in the Asus Eee PC 1201N. But these chips tend to draw more power and generate more heat than chips designed for netbooks.
