Sony Japan unveiled three new HDTVs in its BX series of Bravia LCD TVs that sport hard drives of 500 GB of internal recording and playback of content. Sony Insider reports that these are the first TVs with internal hard drives manufactured by Sony although I vaguely remember the introduction of some Sony last year in Japan.
The BX Series is in the United States are sold, the BX300 series, but in Japan BX30H ship that exists with the main difference being the inclusion of internal hard drives. They are available in three sizes: 22 inches, 26 inches to 32 inches. They come with a 100,000:1 contrast ratio CCFL backlight and a resolution of 720p HD at 60Hz.
It also contains functions that were previously on the Sony Bravia series, including times 24p True Cinema, the 4 digital processor BRAVIA Engine and BRAVIA Sync. For efficiency, it has a 5.1-channel surround sound audio processing and stabilization of steady sound. Most HDTVs, it probably comes from some tinny-sounding speakers 5W.
You will be able to log in with a TV tuner directly to the hard disk of 500 GB on the Japanese model and the UI seems to use XMB Sony PlayStation 3 which is important, because Sony has been the expansion of the XMB feature phones.
Price and date of entry into Japan will be unannounced. Not a word about them to come to Europe or North America, unfortunately. It seems a lack of hard drive-equipped HDTV in the Western Hemisphere …
