Toshiba unveiled 3 new Regza LED LCD TV series Z1, RE1 and HE1 in Japan. Among them the Z1 series (37″/42″/47″/55″) stands out with its LAN recording capability in addition to the USB recording. The 37- and 42- inchers are scheduled to be outed this year in early June followed by 47″ and 55″ models later in the month.
The RE1 Series is composed of eight TVs. The smaller ones, 19, 22, 26 and 32 inches come with 1,366 x 768 resolution while the bigger ones, 37, 42, 47 and 55 inches are all full HD. All models come with LED edge light, dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, REGZA link, Ethernet, USB and two/four HDMI ports and an interesting recording function over USB or LAN. The RE1 Series will start selling next month and by August all models will be available in stores. Prices will range from $850 to $4,600 so there’s plenty of time to decide which one to get.
The HE1 Series will offer you three entry-level TVs which measure 19, 22 and 26 inches. They will offer you 1,366 x 768 resolution, LED edge light, dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 REGZA link, Ethernet, USB and two HDMI ports, recording over USB or LAN and a bundled 500GB HDD. The HE1 Series LCD TVs will start selling in July with prices ranging from $1,200 to $1,400.
The Z1 Series, which I saved for last, is the flagship Toshiba REGZA series. It offers four HDTVs that come in 37, 42, 47 and 55 inch flavors. The Z1 TVs come with full HD Clear LED panel, LED edge light, dynamic contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1, 2 10W speakers, Ethernet, 2 USB slots, 4 HDMI ports, SD/SDHC card slot, REGZA link, Windows 7 support and recording over USB or LAN. The Z1 series TVs will start selling this June with prices starting at $2,700 and going all the way up to $5,200.
